Abstract:Geopolitical risks are increasingly becoming one of the main risks affecting global food security. Events, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Palestine-Israel conflict, have posed unprecedented challenges to global food security, as well as negative impacts on China's food security. In recent years, China's grain production has been increasing year by year, which can effectively ensure food security as a whole. However, some grain crops, such as soybeans and corn, feature a high degree of external dependence. China's food security still suffers from geopolitical risks in terms of industrial and supply chain resilience, price, and foreign investment. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen risk identification, supervision and forecasting in terms of policy, to base on the domestic production situation, to consolidate multi-dimensional international agricultural cooperation, and to build a diversified food supply system, which are the inevitable ways to guarantee China's food security.
