Referring to relevant theories respecting Orientalism and racism in western academia， this study combines empirical data on different occupational and age groups in the Chinese community in Europe to probe into the cultural security situation and to explore the impact of cultural security on their economic， personal， and identity security. It has found that the impression on Orientalism in western societies， including China， is closely linked to the racial prejudices towards immigrant groups， which makes the cultural security of Chinese community in Europe complex and delicate. Protecting the cultural security of individual overseas Chinese is inseparable from defending the overall cultural security of Chinese nation， and their cultural security situation is crucial to understanding the overall cultural security challenges facing our country.
