Biodiversity conservation is not only related to national ecological security， but also a significant issue of global governance. As important members of the "Global South"， China and ASEAN， driven by such internal and external factors as maintaining national ecological security and promoting the transformation of the global biodiversity governance system， have achieved great achievements in biodiversity conservation cooperation like reaching consensus， taking actions and deepening cooperation. Besides， both sides remain their uniqueness in the cooperation process and forms， interaction modes， and participants. Their cooperation advances regional biodiversity conservation and sustainable economic development， builds a win?win relationship between them， and more importantly， it enriches the global biodiversity governance modes， setting an example for "South?South cooperation".
